Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to the wonderful world of fourth grade at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Education Center! My name is Stefanie Griffith and I am excited to be starting my fourth year at STC and my 16th year of teaching. I taught fourth grade for five years at Saint Ann School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. I also taught second grade for seven years at Our Lady of Mercy in Maple Glen. Before I entered the field of education, I worked in advertising in New York City. I graduated from Rider University and have certification in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I recently received my Master's Degree from La Salle University.
The school year is now underway and I look forward to working with you as a team in your child’s education. It is very important to me that your child succeeds to his/her fullest potential. If you ever have any questions, concerns, or ideas, please contact me and I promise to get back to you as soon as possible. The best way to get in touch with me is to e-mail me at [email protected]. If you would like a phone conversation, you can e-mail me and ask me to call you. I ask that you do not e-mail me dismissal information. The best way to let me know about a dismissal change is to send in a note with your child. If it is a last minute change, you should call the office and notify them. If a student does not have a note from a parent/guardian about a dismissal change, he/she will not be allowed to go home a different way.
We will have snack every day. Please send your child to school with something healthy to eat. There are many papers sent home within the first few weeks of school. Please be sure to check your child's homework folder daily.
All hard-covered books need to be covered with a jumbo book sox (or brown bag) and workbooks need to be covered with clear contact paper.
We will have a Student of the Week every week. Please see the Student of the Week tab on my website for more detail. This student can skip a night of written homework for the week and will help me with various things throughout the week. I will talk more about this in class.
Students will have about 60 minutes of homework per night Monday through Thursday. Please see the policy tab on my website for additional information about homework.
My website has various items that are useful during the year. The sites listed under Resources are great for enrichment as well as reviewing math facts. My Back to School Night presentation will be posted on my website if you want to view it ahead of time. I like to keep it on my website all year for you to refer to if needed.
If you would like to celebrate your child’s birthday with the class you may send in a snack such as cupcakes, brownies, fruit, etc. Please do not send in any snack items containing nut products.
I am looking forward to meeting you at Back to School Night!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Stefanie Griffith
